So Winnipeg now has a Topless Book-Lovers Club! Their first public session was yesterday afternoon at Assiniboine Park (the city's biggest public park). I couldn't go because of work (SUCKS!!!) but apparently there were 3 or 4 young women, accompanied by 5 or 6 male participants, hanging around topless and reading their books. And the best part? No one caused a fuss!

They plan to make it a regular event all summer...maybe Winnipeg will make the news for this :D

Cool! Canada is often so much more relaxed then the States. Actually, I hope that it does not become a news item. It would be so much nicer if it just becomes ... ordinary.

The tiny remaining group here might be willing to send along some books, if that would help!

Hereabouts, there's a running joke that's pretty accurate: If a naked guy walks down the street, shooting up the place with a machinegun and stabbing people left and right ... the call to Emergency will be "There's a naked guy in the street!"

Hard to tell ... but this could be the proverbial "tipping point" of acceptance in North America. (OK, I can dream, right?)

Actually, I believe the "Topless Book Club" thing was done in New York first. Can't remember the details, too lazy to look it up right now.

I do agree with Vim about the publicity - it would be great if being naked in public was just normal.
